Sanger Sequencing Results

Results will be emailed both as “ab1” and as “seq” files.

The “ab1” files contain the electropherograms and can be opened with the Sequence Scanner Software v1.0 from Applied Biosystems. To download the free software, visit

Sequence Scanner Software v2.0 for PC

Sequence Scanner Software is PC-restricted. For Mac users we recommend

Finchtv Sequence Analysis Software for Mac

The “seq” files contain the actual sequences and can be opened as Word documents.

We strongly encourage all users to examine the raw data trace and the electropherogram associated with each sequence. For help with interpreting the results, please visit the Sanger Sequencing Troubleshooting page or contact TAGC.
